Course Description:

This class expands upon what you learned in BASIC 001 and takes the beginner deeper in the study of astrology.

Syllabus:

Class Meeting 1: The Outer Planets through the Signs

An introduction to the trans-personal planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto as archetypes and the collective generational themes they represent.

Class Meeting 2: Outer Planets through the Houses and Aspects.

An in depth analysis of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto through the Houses of the chart. In-class analysis of the outer planets in each student's natal charts. We’ll also touch on aspects and how certain house or aspect connections can make these archetypes more personal for a given horoscope.

Class Meeting 3: The Lunation cycle

Week 3 will take us back to the idea of Aspects. The Lunation cycle is basically a series of aspects between the sun and Moon. This series forms the basis for many of the other cycles in Astrology.

Class Meeting 4: Other cycles in Astrology

We’ll see how the lunation cycle is a basic fractal which can be applied to many other cycles which are simply operating on larger time scales. We’ll also introduce some of the other important cycles such as the Saros or Eclipse cycle.

Class Meeting 5: Introducing the Ephemeris

Students will be introduced and taught how to read the ephemeris.

Class Meeting 6: Finding Transits

Students will experience an understanding of astrology with an in-class analysis of recent and future transits in their charts and how these transits fit into particular cycles and so recur periodically.

Class Meeting 7: What Are Progressions?

A Basic explanation of Secondary, Tertiary and Solar Arc Directions.

Class Meeting 8: What Does My Birthday Really Mean?

A Basic Explanation of Solar and Lunar Returns.

Class Meeting 9: The Fundamentals of the Synthesis

Putting it all together...
