COURSE III – Diseases of the Frontal Lobe of the Brain

6 Class Meetings
Prerequisites: Students must have completed Course I and II – there may be exceptions for Course II but the student must have completed Course I and know the Profile technique that Lynn Koiner teaches.

Course Description:

This course will focus upon medical issues associated with the Frontal Lobe of the Brain (Fire) and the Pre-Frontal Cortex (Saturn).

I will also discuss the chronic health issues created by the transiting Uranus and Pluto in Cardinal signs. Since some of these symptoms have mental or emotional implications, I am including this. This Course is based upon my personal research.

Lobe 1 Neurotransmitter: Dopamine -- or Tyrosine to produce it

Dopamine represents Astrological Fire - As a personality type, you are strong-willed; you know what you want and how to get it.

DEFICIENCY HEALTH ISSUES: ADD/ADHD, Alzheimer’s Disease, Autism, drug abuse, Parkinson’s Disease, MS, Diabetes, Chronic Fatigue (from decreased physical strength), Obesity and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Thyroid Disorders, Addictions of all kinds, and addictions to sugar and junk foods; shaking palsy.

• Dysfunction in the synthesis, released and termination/deactivation of Dopamine is involved in ALL ADDICTIONS (alcohol is Fire-Water in the horoscope)

• To produce the neurotransmitter dopamine, add the amino acids Phenylalanine and Tyrosine and the supplements Chromium, Rhodiola, and Thiamine to your diet.

Maturation of the Prefrontal Cortex – Ruled by Saturn as it does not mature until first Saturn Return

The prefrontal cortex, the part of the frontal lobes lying just behind the forehead, is often referred to as the “CEO of the brain.” This brain region is responsible for cognitive analysis and abstract thought, and the moderation of “correct” behavior in social situations. The prefrontal cortex takes in information from all of the senses and orchestrates thoughts and actions to achieve specific goals.

Chart for profiling will be provided by the students. The charts must be connected with Frontal Lobe disorders.
