NAT-2 The Planets

9 Class Meetings
Prerequisites: NAT-1

Course Description:

This course covers the natural significations of the planets, the mythology of the planets, and the important roles planets play in horoscope analysis. Building upon the techniques learned in NAT-1 this course will deepen the understanding of dignities and sect as additional components of each are introduced. The student will also learn the numerous ways a planet functions in a chart with a focus on a planet in a sign, in a house, and ruling a house.

Syllabus:

Class Meeting 1: Planetary Archetypes, Myth & Storytelling: Sun through Mars

Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars

Class Meeting 2: Planetary Archetypes, Myth & Storytelling: Jupiter through Pluto

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto; including discussion on Pluto's planetary status.

Class Meeting 3: Planets as Significators: Sun through Mars

Class Meeting 4: Planets as Significators: Jupiter through Pluto

Class Meeting 5: Actions of the Planets

Class Meeting 6: Assessing Planetary Condition: Triplicity, Term & Face

Class Meeting 7: Assessing Planetary Condition - Accidental Fortitude

The many astronomical factors of accidental fortitude are introduced including oriental, occidental, visibility, speed, brightness, combustion, cazimi, under the beams and Lilly's weighting system.

Class Meeting 8: Chart Practice, Delineation & Discussion

Delineating planets as they relate to the inner personality and outer physical manifest. Discussion on fate, free will, prediction, and how to reconcile varying points of view.

Class Meeting 9: Final Exam
