DPL-1: Introduction to Chinese Metaphysics

Prerequisites: This course is one of the electives for Professional Training students to become a graduate. It can be taken in any order after the completion of NAT-7. If you are not IAA Diploma Program student, you may audit this course (no homework, no exams, no credit) for a lesser price.

Course Objectives: To equip students with basic knowledge of Chinese Metaphysics (CM) which form the building blocks for most CM studies namely, Chinese Astrology, Four Pillars of Destiny, Purple Star Astrology, Feng Shui, Divination methods, and even Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Classes are held weekly.

Characteristics, Productive Cycle, Destructive Cycle, Exhaustive Cycle, Different Nature of the Five Elements, Human Body representation based on Five Elements

Class Meeting 3: Twelve Earthly Branches

Traits, implications and interactions

Class Meeting 4: Ten Heavenly Stems

Traits, implications and interactions

Class Meeting 5: Introduction to Four Pillars of Destiny (commonly known as Bazi)

Class Meeting 6: Elementary Applications in Four Pillars of Destiny (Bazi)
