DPL-3: Astrology of Antiquity – Hellenistic Astrology II

Prerequisites:  This course is open to the general public. This course is one of the electives for IAA Diploma students to graduate. It can be taken in any order after the completion of NAT-7. If you are not an IAA Diploma Program student, you may access this course with no homework, no exams, no credit.

Course Objectives: The primary content of this second of two 6-week study courses is to present a fundamental and comprehensive introduction to Hellenistic astrological philosophy and techniques. The course is open to everyone: astrology students, hobbyists and professionals.

Classes are held weekly.

Class Meeting 1: Aspects

House and planet configurations, planet orbs and aspects. Concourse, testimony, adherence. Synodic cycles and the phases of the planets.

Class Meeting 2: The Horoskopos (Ascendant)

Assignment of rulers (Officer), pre-natal lunation and “The Architect”.

Class Meeting 3: Terms or Bounds

Understanding the use of “Bounds” and their application. Planetary Joy, the Theme Mundi as a teaching tool.

Class Meeting 4: Time Lords, Part 1

Prognostication methods – Profection.

Class Meeting 5: Time Lords, Part 2

Modified Solar Return (MSR), Lunar Return.

Class Meeting 6: Time Lords, Part 3

Zodiacal Releasing, Lots of Fortune and Spirit.
