Venus transits of the Sun were considered key timing triggers of world events by the ancient Maya. The Venus transits of June 2004 and June 2012 correspond to an unprecedented rise of 22 women heads of state since 2000. This emergence of strong women leaders following Venus transits is similar to periods from first recorded political history surrounding the 1518 and 1526 transits with the rise of Elizabeth the First and Catherine de Medici to the most recent in 1874 and 1882 which saw the 60-year reign of Queen Victoria and the work of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony to secure voting rights for women in the United States. With New Hampshire now sporting the U.S. first All Women Delegation and the most women ever in the freshman U.S. Congress of 2013, it is only a matter of time before the U.S. elects a woman president. We will look at dynamic and self-affirming Morning Star Venus politicians as well as Evening Star Venus politicians who are tapped for leadership by male mentors.
