Course Two: Transits and Progressions in Medical Astrology

Prerequisite: Course One: Introduction to Medical Astrology unless otherwise advised by instructor

In this course, the students continue to contribute birth data for a Disease that we will research together.

The emphasis will be upon transits and progressions that trigger disease. There will be a discussion of Mars Cycles and signs (by transit), the transits of Saturn-Uranus-Neptune-Pluto and Transpluto. I have many articles that I have written that will be provided for all students.

Progressions will be discussed and I will give interpretations that are not just for medical purposes. I have an extensive article on the Progressed Moon and the Progressed Moon going Out of Bounds.

I will discuss progressed planets changing direction and changing signs. These often portend a crossroad or turning point in the life. Fear can sometimes lead to health issues.

Transits will be discussed in connection with T-Squares, Crosses, Stelliums, the Inconjunct and Interceptions. NOTE: I will give a lengthy webinar for IAA on Interception by Sign and Planet in November 2020.

A brief discussion and handout will be provided on illness hours – that is, the time that an onset occurs can indicate the organ being affected. This is based upon Chinese Medicine.

  • Lynn F. Koiner
    Lynn F. Koiner

Lynn Koiner has been a full-time professional astrologer since June 1969, and she is a professional member of the American Federation of Astrologers. She had the opportunity to study directly with Ernest Grant, co-founder of the AFA, and he was her sponsor into this organization in 1969.

Lynn served as president of the National Council for Geocosmic Research, Inc., Baltimore, Maryland, and she is currently the president of the Annapolis chapter and International Liaison for the NCGR National Board. With a research specialty since 1972 on Transpluto, she was a contributing author on this topic in Noel Tyl’s ASTROLOGY’S SPECIAL MEASUREMENTS. This hypothetical planet is essential in medical charts, especially with regard to auto-immune diseases.

Since the 1970s, Lynn has been examining the psychological patterns shown in the horoscope as connected with specific diseases. The philosophy being that correcting a problematic personality characteristic can impact recovery or prevent onset. The first disease research was blood sugar disorders and some of this research was published in the Tyl book. Subsequent areas of research have been auto-immune, Alzheimer’s, respiratory, skin, addiction (obesity), and irritable bowel syndrome. In 2000 and 2003, Lynn received the Sims Pounds Jr. Award for Best Conference Speaker from the American Federation of Astrologers for her research lectures on medical astrology and weight loss and the transformational process.

Since 1999, Lynn has been working and consulting with members of the scientific community (medical doctors, psychologists, physicists, and astronomers). There has been a lot of research conducted in the realm of traditional science that can be incorporated into her astrological studies. The Society for Scientific Exploration has been one of the bridging scientific organizations.

Lynn has been teaching the Medical Curriculum for the International Academy since January 2009. The completion of six courses are required for a Diploma in Medical Astrology.
